UTTER BRILLIANCE A MUST READ

This book gripped me aftre the fist 6 pages , iam happy that i kepted going as all the caricters and the relationship between them are so real and funny , you will not stop laughting and tear will run down you face as you get more into reading the book .
For a first book by this author, was one of the best books ive read for a long time i hope he writes more about the lads and what they get up too as i can see a tv series or a movie being made because you will die laughting and want much more

There is so many moments i would love to tell you about this book but cant so you will have to by the book and have the same tears of laughter and sore stomach that i had you will not be disapointed

Loved this book

Mc cammond's poetic mind opens this book and sparkles throughout while sensibilities are blasted by the sharp and expletive wit of authentic Glasgow. Some will role with laughter; others will shudder at Mc Cammond's depiction of the nineties in the raw. The dialogue is fast paced, but every now and again it all slows to lyrical heartfelt reflection. This is a unique, honest and courageous book from a wildly creative talent. Hope to see more of Mc Cammond writing.

A really well written book full of Glasgow banter and many a laugh out loud moment. Lovely poetic moments scattered throughout add another dimension to the read… Enjoyed the stories and all the nonsense that surrounded the 2 main characters during a non stop week of drinking, joking, drinking and more joking and drinking…Look forward to the next book

Flawless, Essential, and Inspiring

I received this book as a gift, after getting a bit interested in hand balancing. It is without a doubt the best source of information on hand balancing I've ever seen! You really learn everything from the basics to the most advanced. You could use this book for years and years. This book has inspired me to become an avid hand balancer. I love it! I found the characters of Professor Paulinetti and Bob Jones so fascinating that I decided to dig up any information I could find on them. There's really not a lot, for such incredible people. It makes the subject of their lives even more fascinating somehow. Definitely would recommend this to someone interested in being able to do a handstand.

This is a really old book. A REALLY old book. Gymnastics and handstands have changed much since the time of Paulinetti. I'm not so sure if this was worth the price. He certainly made his feats look very simple. Keep in mind that Paulinetti had been tumbling and practicing handstands for a very long time - since childhood. I bought this book hoping for a method for which to progress in my own handstands and balancing. It did little to help me out. The first half of the book is the history of someone world-famous. It's fun. It's interesting. But I don't know how applicable it is to the general public.

Loved this book - when dotties husband reg receives a letter that hes a father and the child is coming from australia it turns poor dotties life upside down... shes dreading it but in the end turns out to be the best not only for her but for the child - i wont be a spoiler but i hated Reg lol.. i got so into the story of this book i couldnt put it down. Loved Pam weaver its the first time ive read one of her books and have since bought another one of hers - if you love stories of the War you will love this

I have read two of Pam Weaver's books and enjoyed them both. Again I love the WW2 era and am always fascinated by the culture of that time and the folks who made it through those very challenging times.

About the Author

The author of over 20 books and 100 peer-reviewed articles, he has researched and published widely on development - and especially labor - from Latin American and Sub-Saharan African posts, as well as from an Irish development perspective. His recent two-volume encyclopedia Globalization and Security (with Honor Fagan) won the US Choice prize in 2011. Other recent work includes a special issue of Third World Quarterly on globalization and migration and Contemporary Latin America (third edition, 2012).

Simplicity, Tastiness and Health for the Mind, Body, Soul!

Super format: daily meditations, meal plans, action and detailed yoga workouts with accompanying videos you can follow along online. And Sadie is a kick ass writer with stories you can relate too. It's not just about the body -- it's mind, body, soul. The recipes are simple, quick, affordable, doable, and save you time in terms of planning and shopping -- just go to the store once a week instead of just before dinner every day. I wish Sadie'd plan my meals forever. Oh, and I loved eating them. My taste buds were doing the sun salutation dance. Plus, they were all whole foods healthy. How did she accomplish that? Simplicity, tastiness and health. Wow. Okay, there's more. I'm telling my sister about the daily meditations like "Bow to the Bitch" and sharing excerpts. My sister has been doing some transformative work, adding tools to her toolkit to manage chronic mental health issues by looking at her diet and exercise and by learning meditation through an awesome program in MN. She's buying the book--not for the meals or yoga; she's a great gardener, cook and outdoors person--but for the stories and meditations. I bought the book for the yoga. I wanted to rehabilitate my core post full abdominal hysterectomy. I'd forgotten how fabulous yoga is, how great I feel mentally, spiritually, physically with a daily practice. I love the balance between ease and challenge Sadie encourages presenting you with crazy flying poses while teaching you self-acceptance for where you are now. She builds the challenges safely through instruction in core strengthening and moving from the core. Laughter at self encouraged. Love, love this book, the yoga, the meditations and the meals!

So Outdated It's Worthless

This book is horribly outdated and filled with generalities. It will NOT give you an understanding of school finance in CA or elsewhere. I kept wondering why the authors stated things like, "Today a major portion of a CBO's [chief business officer's] daily work is done on a computer." I then noticed that this book was originally written in 1992 and has just been repeatedly reprinted with newer publication dates. The book is a very thin 170 pages with each topic receiving a few sentences at best. I was completely stunned when one of the key words listed at the end of a chapter (Chapter 14 School Food Service Program) was "Burger King". I am not kidding. Burger King was mentioned ONCE in the chapter and has no consequence on school finance, yet some idiot thought this should be a key word for the entire chapter. In fact Del Taco was listed in the same sentence, "Some schools have turned to fast food and soda companies, like Del Taco and Burger King, for part of the daily meals." So why isn't Del Taco a key word by these horrible standards? If this book were current, it would have discussed the current CA law that banned soda products in schools. The book uses no specifics and provided me with no information to help me learn about School Finance in California. This book is insanely overpriced at $114 and must only be this price because the someone uses it as a course textbook (which is mortifying).The authors should be embarrassed this book is being sold at this price considering throughout the book it discusses things like Excel, "A school principal may request assistance from the business office for tools to ease the tasks of building and monitoring the budget. Many financial transactions can be monitored more quickly and easily with a personal computer. Some of these tasks include..." The book then goes on to give you a few pages explaining how to set up a worksheet in Excel and "The Advantages of Excel". Even in 1992 this book would have been so generic as to not provide me with solid information on school finance. Rather it speaks in generalities with no actual real world examples and cases. I am disgusted that Amazon, Kendall Hunt Publishing, and these authors can conscionably sell this book.

This books comes with a CD, but mine was missing. This should have been put in the description when selling the item. A little deceptive that it wasn't stated that the CD was missing.

Nice little book. Offers some brief insights into INFJ types that is helpful, although as an INFJ myself I'd have to remind folks that this is just generalities & not everything applies to every INFJ. Keep in mind while reading this that we're all unique, because there were quite a few things in the book that didn't apply to me at all. Still an interesting read.

A wonderful reference for anyone in the business world

I loved this book! It is a valuable reference for anyone in the business world and would make a wonderful gift for anyone entering into corporate America. The author demonstrates how a few simple sentences can help cultivate & maintain important business relationships for years to come. I will keep this one in my personal library for as long as I am employed!

A MUST for every business professional!!!

Florence Isaacs does a masterful job of informing the business professional of the incredible importance and influence of notes. Notes are the bridges between professional relationships, and can determine the future of your business. Whether it be a thank you note for the previous day's lunch, the birth of an employees child, even the kind of pen to use, Isaacs covers everything you need to know about writing successful business notes. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to take their business relationships to the next level.

I have relied on this book for years!

My mother gave me this book when I was newly employed as a young professional. I cannot tell you how many times I have referred to it during the almost 15 years I have owned it. Short, sweet and to the point, Business Notes has been a wonderful resource for both traditional hand-written notes and email communication. I highly recommend this book for college graduates and seasoned professionals.
